Voting & Rewards
Voting is the free way to support Starbroken and get a little something back. You vote for the server on the public listing sites, the server mints you a reward capsule, and you crack that capsule open in a little gacha reveal for credits, catalysts, or a cosmetic. Everything you can win this way is convenience or cosmetic — never power. Nothing in the vote pool (or the paid store) makes your ship hit harder. It's social proof for us and a small thank-you for you.
The /vote menu
Type /vote to open the vote terminal — a chest menu that's the single home for everything voting:
- Your Voting — lifetime vote count and when you last voted.
- Reward — what a vote gets you (a capsule), plus the live launch bonus if one is active.
- Daily Streak — your current streak and when your next vote will count toward it.
- Reward Capsules — your capsule inbox. Click it to open your oldest unopened capsule (see the reveal below).
- The listing sites — one clickable button per site along the bottom row. Click one and the menu closes and drops a clickable link in chat; your client opens it in a browser.
The menu is read-only — it never records a vote itself. Votes arrive back from the listing site over the Votifier protocol after you actually vote on its page.
The listing sites
There are seven sites in the rotation. Vote on as many as you can — each one that reports back mints its own capsule:
| Site |
|---|
| Minecraft Server List |
| MinecraftServers.org |
| Minecraft-MP |
| Top Minecraft Servers |
| Minecraft-Servers.gg |
| MineRank |
| Minecraft.Buzz |
Most sites let you vote once every 24 hours, so the natural rhythm is a daily lap through all seven. You don't have to be online when the vote lands — capsules wait safely in your inbox until you log in and open them.
The daily streak
Voting on consecutive days builds a streak, shown in the menu. The streak is about showing up daily, not about spamming sites:
- Voting on several sites in one session counts as one streak day. A second vote only advances the streak if it's been at least 20 hours since your last counted vote.
- Miss a day and you keep your streak as long as the gap stays under 48 hours. A gap longer than 48 hours resets the streak to 1.
So the streak rewards a steady once-a-day habit. Vote daily and it climbs; skip two days and you start over.
The launch bonus (early votes are worth more)
During the server's launch window, vote rewards are boosted and taper back to normal as the server matures. The multiplier started at ×5.0 at launch (June 19, 2026) and ramps linearly down to ×1.0 over 45 days. At the time of writing the bonus is in effect; the /vote menu shows it as a live banner with a countdown ("Launch Bonus ×N — ends in X days").
The key detail: the multiplier is locked onto each capsule the moment your vote lands, not when you open it. So a capsule you earned on launch day at ×5 still pays the ×5 amount even if you sit on it for a month. Vote early — those capsules are worth the most.
The bonus only scales the credit and bulk-catalyst rewards (the ones flagged to scale). Cosmetic coupons are always granted as a single item; the multiplier doesn't make extra copies of them.
The capsule inbox
Every reported vote mints one STANDARD reward capsule into your personal inbox. The inbox is durable and offline-safe: capsules pile up while you're away and never expire. Open them whenever you like from the Reward Capsules slot in /vote.
You can hoard capsules — there's no cap and nothing forces you to open them — but during a launch bonus the value is already baked in, so there's no penalty for waiting either.
Opening a capsule — the reveal
Clicking the capsule inbox opens your oldest capsule with an animated, CS:GO-style horizontal roll: a strip of icons scrolls past a pointer and decelerates onto your prize, with a sound sweep and a firework flourish on the landing.
A few things worth knowing about how it's built so you never feel cheated:
- The capsule is claimed atomically the instant you open it — a double-click can't pay out twice.
- Your prize is rolled and granted immediately, before the animation plays. If you disconnect mid-reveal, the reward is already yours.
- If your inventory is full (or a reward somehow isn't available), the capsule is put back in your inbox so nothing is ever lost. Free up space and re-open it from
/vote.
What's in a STANDARD capsule
Each capsule rolls exactly one entry by weight. Here's the full pool and the odds (credit/catalyst amounts shown are the base value, before the launch multiplier; the ×5 launch figure is in parentheses):
| Reward | Odds | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 credits | ~48.2% | Common (×5 launch = 5,000) |
| 50× Drive Cells | ~21.9% | Warp fuel catalyst (scales with bonus) |
| 3,000 credits | ~10.5% | Uncommon (×5 = 15,000) |
| 6× Refining Flux | ~5.3% | T3+ refining reagent (scales) |
| 8,000 credits | ~1.75% | Rare jackpot (×5 = 40,000) |
| Science frigate livery coupon | ~1.75% | Cosmetic hull skin |
| Military frigate livery coupon | ~1.75% | Cosmetic hull skin |
| Mining frigate livery coupon | ~1.75% | Cosmetic hull skin |
| Ship nametag color (red / green / blue / yellow) | ~0.88% each | Basic palette only |
| Player nametag color (red / green / blue / yellow) | ~0.88% each | Basic palette only |
So roughly four out of five capsules pay out credits or a useful catalyst (Drive Cells for warping, Refining Flux for refining higher-tier ore — see mining), and about one in eight drops a cosmetic: a rare frigate livery or a basic chat/ship nametag color.
The three frigate liveries are cosmetic hull skins — they change how your Frigate looks, not what it does. The pirate livery is deliberately not in the vote pool; it's earned-only. See Cosmetics & Liveries for how liveries and nametag colors work and how to apply a coupon.
Anything you win that overflows a full inventory drops at your feet (or, if the whole grant can't be delivered, the capsule is kept — see above).
The paid store (Tebex) — status & cosmetics only
There's an optional paid store powered by Tebex. It exists to let players chip in if they want to, and it sells only the same kind of cosmetic and status items the vote pool does — premium nametag colors (gold / aqua / pink / purple) reserved for supporters, and other purely visual flair.
Starbroken is not pay-to-win. Store purchases grant cosmetics and status only — there is no ship, weapon, module, or stat advantage you can buy. Anything that affects combat or economy power is earned in-game through the crafting and progression tree, the same for everyone. The store and the vote rewards share one platform precisely so the "what can I buy" answer is always the same: looks, not power.
Purchases are fulfilled in-game automatically and land in your inventory the same way a vote reward does.
